Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Event Model really free?

Yes. The specification, DSL, schemas, and SDKs are all MIT licensed. You can use them in any project, commercial or not, without paying us anything.

What's the difference between Open Standard and Platform?

Open Standard gives you the spec and tools to build your own infrastructure. Platform gives you hosted infrastructure so you don't have to.

Can I self-host the Platform?

Enterprise customers can deploy in their own VPC. Contact sales to discuss deployment options.

What counts as a "developer"?

Anyone who emits events or queries the dashboard. Service accounts and CI/CD don't count toward your developer limit.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Platform includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required.

What happens if I exceed 30 days of retention?

Events older than 30 days are automatically archived. Upgrade to Enterprise for unlimited retention.
